Report price: Euro 305.00; US$ 400.00

This report includes statistical data and analysis of fibre reinforced composite materials production in Europe, and it provides breakdowns in terms of segment and application, namely: aerospace; automotive; construction and infrastructure; electrics and electronics; and sport and leisure. Also, it provides an outlook for the future. European production of glass fibre reinforced plastics fell in 2020 to its lowest level since 2013, which has been attributed primarily to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The largest segment was that of short fibre reinforced thermoplastics and long fibre reinforced thermosets, followed by non-crimp fabrics, glass mat reinforced thermoplastics (GMT), long fibre reinforced thermoplastics (LFT), and carbon fibre reinforced plastics. The European composites industry is expected to recover from the decline in 2020 and grow over the long term as new opportunities arise in existing markets and new markets, and as research into further applications bears fruit. However, some sectors will recover faster than others. The construction industry, for instance, is likely to have fully recovered in 2021, whereas the aerospace industry is unlikely to recover before 2024.
