This report provides vital data and analysis of trends in the US clothing import market. The report also focuses in detail on clothing imports into the USA from ten key supplying countries, namely Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, El Salvador, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. In 2014 US clothing imports reached a record high in value and also in volume. The average price of US clothing imports fell for the third consecutive year although it remained above the levels seen during 2005-10. China remained the USA's largest clothing supplier in 2014. Furthermore, US clothing imports from China rose in volume and China's share of US imports from all sources increased. In value, however, imports rose only marginally and China's share fell. Imports from India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam grew at much faster rates than imports from China and all three countries gained market share in value and volume terms. But imports from Bangladesh, Cambodia and Indonesia declined and all three countries lost market share. Imports from El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico, meanwhile, rose moderately in value and any changes in volume were only small. As a result, all three countries more or less maintained their market shares.
