Subhash Anand

Subhash Anand is a professor of technical textiles at Bolton Institute, UK. He has research interests in: automotive textiles; healthcare and medical textiles; geotextiles; sportswear; technical knitting and technical nonwovens; mechanical and sensory properties of fabrics.

Professor Anand has had more than 110 research papers published in international journals, he has organised international conferences on composite materials (one conference); medical textiles (three conferences) and high performance textiles (one conference). He has also organised two international conferences in the Czech Republic on technical textiles. He was the editor of proceedings of three conferences, a co-editor of a major textbook on Technical Textiles, and he has contributed chapters to three books.

Professor Anand has extensive experience as an examiner. He is currently director of studies and main supervisor for a number of PhD research degree students. He has also secured funding for many research projects, to a total value of more than 1 mn.

He also works as a consultant and visiting professor. Other titles held include chairman of PEAC, the Textile Institute, member of Diplomas Committee, and member of the Board and the Council of the Textile Institute.
