Archana Sekhar is a freelance market research consultant and business writer, based in Bangalore (India). She has an MBA from a leading Indian business school, XLRI, and is a post-graduate in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology. She has worked for the management consultancy division of PriceWaterhouse Coopers and Business Consulting Group (an Indian consultancy firm). She also set up a business for export of Indian handicrafts.
After starting her market research and writing practice, she has undertaken many market research projects for Asia Market Intelligence (now part of Synovate) and has written reports on a number of Indian companies for the monthly business magazine, Asian Business (Hong Kong). As part of her consultancy and writing assignments, she has undertaken research and prepared several reports on issues relating to the Indian apparel industry and garment companies. She has been contributing to Textile Outlook International since 2003. She co-authored the report on "Planning for the End of Quotas in 2005: Strategies of India's Apparel Exporters" published in the Textile Outlook International issue of May-June 2003.
