Employing almost 15 million people, India’s textile and apparel industry is one of the largest in the world. All three major textile sectors - mill, powerloom and handloom - are interdependent, and all make products which are exported to the rest of the world.
The report examines all three sectors. It provides data on prices by product category as well as analysing textile and clothing imports into India’s major markets. Case studies of importers and manufacturers are presented, and lists of major apparel buyers and selling agents are given, together with their contact details.
